Italy boasts more grape varietals than any other wine country and its sheer diversity is both exhilarating and beyond compare. Those who say they don't like Italian wine are usually the sad victims of the overworked industrial-scale plonk that still inhabits the supermarket aisles at 3 for a tenner, or worse still, the cynical wine lists of unscrupulous restaurant owners that simply list Pinot Grigio, Valpolicella, Soave, Chianti, with no hint as to the vintage, producer or status of the wine.
We'd like you to forget all that and delve into the sublime treasures that modern Italian winemakers are able to create. Wines that seduce with their charm, their sheer quality and the wonderful way in which they partner food. Make no mistake, not all Soaves are the same and not all Valpolicella or Chianti will strip the skin off the roof of your mouth.....they might, however, have you stripping your clothes off and singing "Volare".
Most popular Italian Red: Cerasuolo di Vittorio and anything else from Sicily
