| Australia First Families of Wine
The Australian story so far has been about value for money, consistency of quality, and the kind of reliability that the big winery brands offer.
Not a bad start, but the real story behind the country's winemaking heritage can be seen in the 12 short films on the Australian First Families of Wine website.
Together they make up about 1200 years of winemaking experience, own some of the country's most important vineyards and iconic wine labels. As they prepare the next generation to take over their various wineries, the constant theme is about commitment to their families and the importance of the family winemaking tradition in Australia; a story that is seldom told.
As Peter Barry sums it up, "It's important that we all realise that we're just custodians of these vineyards and this long-term committment to the industry, the vineyards, the businesses and the next generation who will take over is an important part of the Australian wine culture and although this culture is very strong in Australia, it's a story that isn't really talked about with regard to Australian wine."
In this day and age we believe that people prefer to relate to real products from real people, that is our essence and we have come together to get that message across.
