The mineral rich soils on Mount Etna combined with the little known local varieties such as Nerello Mascalese combine to create a style of wine that is attractive, complex and long-lived.  The high altitude and proximity to the sea means there is a dramatic change between day and night-time temperatures – perfect for the vines to de-stress overnight.  

Santo Spirito is one of the four vineyards within the estate and was one of our picks, along with Calderara Sottana however there was very little qualitative difference to the four as they’re all made in exactly the same way just allowing the vineyards to speak for themselves. These wines are all about finesse and the texture, complexity and weight and the best way to describe them is that they combine the best of both Burgundy and the Rhone: a
