| Creitzer coming from the local dialect for anything from Deuschkreutz. This Blaufrankisch is a lovely dark ruby-garnet in colour and comes from vines between 33 and 49 years old in heavy loam soil. It is then fermented in a traditional manner in steel tanks, must is pumped four times a day with submersion of the must cap and it is also has a biological acid reduction. It is then aged in three year old oak barriques for fifteen months which brings a nice hint of wood to the bouquet. You will also find hints of vanilla, dark berries and cinnamon. It has an elegant texture on the palate with ripe black cherries and a mineral finish - a very drinkable wine with a perfect smoothness. Serve at 16-18C. |
