The first impression, I think you will agree is that this has incredible freshness for such a maturing. It's so supple in it's fruit, so perfectly proportioned with the tannin, it just hits all the right buttons. It's like a really finely knitted cashmere jacket, so perfectly made yet very simple at the same time. Made by Beatrice Larribiere at their property in the heart of St Emilion. We import this exclusively having discovered it on my trip to Bordeaux in June of 2007
After three days of tasting a lot of wines, I finally found this at the 11th hour. We had four vintages to chose from but in the end we went for the fabulous 2005 vintage. A textbook example, not only of the Merlot grape but exactly what you would want from a St Emilion. |
