This just goes to show what great value Chablis really is today. It helps that 2009 was one of the best vintages ever, however, increasingly well-known regions in France will often disappoint and produce lacklustre wines because they don't have to try. The Picq's are on top form at the moment, Pascal in the vineyard and brother Didier in the winery together this pair make tight, taut and terrific Chablis with that classic minerality, the 2009 has an added floral honeyed fatness and a little old fashioned cheesy undertone to boot. |
