Producers like Allegrini are a very rare breed. The quality of the wines they produce from their 70 hectares across the range vintage after vintage is both stellar and impeccable. The Amarone is intense and balanced, a benchmark for the region. Made from the three main grapes of the region that are harvested and then dried in a specially constructed humidity-controlled drying room and then pressed in the following March. The result is a rich and lucious dry red wine of great depth and character.
Other wines made in this method to try are:
Vicentini Agostino's Valpolicella Superiore, Veneto
Jo Grilli's Joseph Moda Cabernet Sauvignon, South Australia
Allegrini + ReNacer Enamore, Argentina
