A lovely winery we discovered a few years back after having success with Le Roc des Anges  we were on the lookout for other quality Roussilon producers.   
With beautiful vineyards on the steep terraces in the heart of the Roussillon, Jean Boucabeille has got what it takes:  shistes soils, planted with classic varieties Syrah Grenache and Mourvedre and some old vine Carignan. 
The Cuvée Regis is a classic southern blend with predominantly Grenache and a tiny amount of Mourvèdre.    A juicy versatile red wine that will seduce you with its immediate charm.  A good red to go with Barbecued meats.    Both wines capture the spicy/herby flavours of the region and although intense they are not heavy, one is actually refreshingly crisp on its finish.
