Recently voted Decanter’s Magazine’s London Wine Store of the Year, Philglas & Swiggot was founded in 1991 on Northcote Road in Battersea. Over the next 30 years, it expanded to add a store in Marylebone and became one of London's most loved independent wine merchants. Here at Philglas, we all share a passion for good wines from around the world (less the pretentiousness) and we like to foster a fun and friendly environment that our customers enjoy as much as we do.
We are currently looking to recruit experienced staff interested in wine retail and service to assist in operation across both of our stores.
Here at Philglas & Swiggot wine is the hero. We are looking for dynamic individuals who are passionate about wine, food, and delivering exceptional service. You will be interacting with guests and involved in all aspects of a busy hybrid retail wine business including store sales, drink-in hospitality service, tasting events, and developing private client fine wine sales.
As part of the team, the right candidate should be proactive, quick-thinking, and flexible with excellent client-facing sales skills. Previous experience in a busy retail environment and managing hospitality service alongside wine shop duties are highly desirable. A well-developed sales instinct and commercial awareness are essential to growing general sales and private client fine wine opportunities.
Currently, there are Full and Part-time positions available with extensive wine training.
