Rafael Palacios Louro de Bolo Godello Galicia 2022
Rafael Palacios began his personal project in 2004, in the sub-zone of the Bibei Valley, municipality of O Bolo, D.O. Valdeorras, buying old vines of the region´s Godello grape variety to ancient vinegrowers.
His main work concerning viticulture, is to lead vineyards back towards a traditional and organic methods of cultivation, free of aggressive treatments for the plant and its soil. As a result, the expression of the microclimate of O Bolo and its sandy granitic soil, taking prominence in the profile "terroir" of the wine, highlighting the minerality and its saline character.
Clean, elegant, Louro is a wine of noble aromas which transmits its aromatic intensity from the expression of plants such as fennel and a delicate reminder of chestnut blossom, with citrus notes and an attractive reminder of wet rock. On the palate the attack is fresh and voluptuous, at the same time oily which melts into a complex and fruity passage. Its finish is marked by the saline minerality of its soil which gives it the personality and character of a great wine.
Best paired with lemon chicken and any sort of seafood. I would personally recommend enjoying it with the traditional Spanish Gambas al Ajillo.
¡Salud!

Mullineux Old Vine White Swartland 2022
Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines is one of the stand-out producers in South Africa's budding Swartland region. Winemakers Chris and Andrea Mullineux’s ambition is to bottle wines that are a true expression of the Swartland, and all steps of their winemaking process are taken with this in mind. They work closely with a select group of growers who follow sustainable, reasoned farming practices, as well as owning vineyards at their Roundstone Farm in Riebeeksrivier.
In the cellar, apart from minimal amounts of sulphur, nothing is added to or removed from the wine. They do not make use of any yeasts, acids, tannins, enzymes, or fining and filtering agents. The Old Vines White is a field blend of Chenin Blanc (70%) with small quantities of Clairette Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Sémillon Gris.
A wonderfully complex and concentrated wine that oozes character. It boasts a heady bouquet of ripe stone fruit, blossom and spice. The palate is richly textured but with a deliciously dry and mineral finish. Warm spice and exotic fruit combine with fresh citrus and mouth-watering acidity to give an impressive and elegant wine. It is a versatile food wine and would pair excellently with richer fish or white meat dishes and anything flavoured with aromatic spices. This one will age beautifully but it’s very much ready to enjoy now.

Luigi Pira Barolo 'Marenca' 2019
At home, we love to cook lamb for Easter, so this Pira Barolo is most definitively going to feature as a pairing this year. I know, I know, Barolo can have quite firm tannins but make sure you have a decanter on hand and let it breathe for around 1 hour.
The wine is vibrant and bursting with aromas of rose petals, violets, red and black fruit, bergamot, liquorice, chocolate... the list goes on. On the palate, you notice a more earthy note to it and pairing it with a roast or grilled lamb will be nothing short of fantastic. It's a bold wine to an intense flavoured meat.

Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Prestige Roger Sabon 2021
A sumptuous Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Roger Sabon (2021 vintage). This is a superb example of a high-end Châteauneuf-du-Pape exhibiting balance, depth of flavour and long length on the palate. The cuvée Prestige is a blend of Grenache (70%), Syrah (15%), Mourvedre (10%) and the balance features a mix of several white and red grapes allowed in the appellation. On the nose, we are immediately met with an intriguing bouquet of fleshy red and black fruits, lightly infused with a whiff of provençal herbs and pepper. The fruit on the palate is dense, mainly blackberries and black cherries predominating, with beautiful, meaty concentration, and velvety tannins. There’s a touch of spice, but it remains discreetly the background. The finish lingers on the palate for a pleasantly long, long, time!!

Sposa e Sposa Heartland Wines Langhorne Creek 2021
An exciting new wine in our portfolio, this producer represents a rising trend of Italian grapes being grown in Australia. Winemaker Ben Glaetzer is a stalwart of the Aussie wine scene being at the forefront of innovation for the last 30 years.
Sposa e Sposa is a unique blend of 54% Lagrein and 46% Dolcetto. This wine celebrates the marriage of Italian grapes grown in Langhorn Creek and boasts ripe tannins and bright acidity. Robust, rich and ready to enjoy, this vintage offers a subtle structure and a multilayered fruit-driven palate. The fascinating Lagrein shows great complexity now that the vines have some age, look for blackberries and black spice. The Dolcetto softens the palate and offers a burst of fruit to please and entice. A soft and forward wine, with a long finish. This can be enjoyed at cellar temperature in the cooler months or chilled down for summer drinking.
